Mazda Taiwan introduces the new Mazda 2023, Mazda CX-30 and Mazda CX-5. New and improved ALH intelligent headlamps
“Safety” is always a key consideration when buying a car, and Mazda not only creates a car that is fun to drive, but also enhances the driver’s confidence and sense of security. Numerous studies have shown that poor lighting conditions when driving at night result in a higher rate of road accidents at night, and that a clearer view of the road reduces the chance of accidents and thus the likelihood of collisions and injuries.
ALH intelligent headlamps include an anti-glare high beam, a wide-angle low beam and enhanced distance at high speeds. Conventional headlamps are designed to be single directional, with the light only being directed directly in front of the vehicle. When driving on winding mountain roads at night, the headlamps are often only directed at the mountain wall, making it impossible for the driver to react to the road conditions after the turn, thus increasing the likelihood of an accident. In order to provide more intelligent protection technology, the 2023 Mazda3/Mazda CX-30/Mazda CX-5 main models are equipped with ALH (Adaptive LED Headlights), which uses sensors to recognise the road ahead and automatically adjusts to three light patterns depending on the speed of the vehicle, as well as providing Depending on the steering wheel angle, up to six illumination angles are available, reducing dead spots.
At speeds greater than 40km/h, the anti-glare high beam dynamically blocks part of the beam to protect the view of drivers in the opposite or front direction, reducing the discomfort caused by the headlights to the car in front, oncoming traffic and pedestrians; at speeds below 40km/h, it switches to the low beam. In addition, when driving at speeds above 95km/h on the motorway, the ALH can raise the angle of the headlamps upwards to enhance the illumination distance and ensure the driver has the best possible visibility.
