The main focus of this upgrade is a new rear monoshock and traction control system.
In China, amaha just debuted the revised NMax 155 scooter, which is based on the Aerox 155. Yamaha Motor is contemplating importing the more classically designed NMax 155 maxi-scooter to our borders, given the popularity of the Aerox 155 in the market.
At the back, a new preload-adjustable monoshock setup has been installed.
The R15 V4 Traction Control system is installed.
Ground clearance is lower than on the Aerox 155.
Engine and chassis of the new Yamaha NMax 155
The NMax is powered by the same VVA-equipped, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 155cc engine that powers the Aerox, producing 15hp and 13.8Nm of torque. The front suspension is handled by a telescopic fork, but the rear is handled by a revolutionary preload-adjustable gas-charged monoshock.
A 230mm disc in the front and rear, along with dual-channel ABS, handles braking duties. Ground clearance is 125mm, which is much less than the 145mm on the Aerox 155. Wheel sizes are also smaller on the NMax, at 13 inches against 14 inches on the Aerox.
While the two vehicles have identical underseat storage capacity, the NMax has the option of installing a big 39-litre top box attachment. The NMax weighs 131kg with the 7.1-litre (5.5-litre on the Aerox) gasoline tank full, making it 4kg more than the Aerox.
Yamaha NMax 155 specifications
The most significant addition to the feature set is the installation of a Traction Control system, which is believed to be comparable to the system found on the R15 V4 because they share the same engine. While some may question its utility on a 15hp scooter, there is no denying that it will be a useful safety feature.
The new Yamaha NMax is outfitted with an LED headlight with two low beam chambers flanked by LED DRLs and a separate housing for the high beam. The taillight is also LED, however the indicators are classic halogen lights. The NMax also features a completely digital instrument cluster with MyRide app capabilities and Bluetooth connectivity, which displays email, call, and text notifications as well as the battery level on your smartphone.
A waterproof pocket with a USB plug inside the front apron allows you to charge your phone while on the go; it may also hold any other small goods you want to protect from the elements. Another excellent feature on the NMax is the Start/Stop function, which helps save fuel usage by cutting off the engine at traffic lights – something that will undoubtedly come in handy with today’s exorbitant gasoline prices.
Yamaha NMax 155
Yamaha India chairman Eishin Chihana hinted that the NMax’s introduction was dependent on the Aerox’s performance in the market. Despite its limited availability through Blue Square dealerships alone, the Aerox has carved out a place for itself since its inception, performing steadily month after month. With the traditional Indian scooter customer prioritizing practicality over everything else, the NMax might be an excellent fit, combining practicality with a high degree of performance, style, and features. What’s more, about its price, its peice may be higher among 2022 Yamaha Nmax Price.
