Even though the Mustang and Hornet have gone through a facelift, the Challenger has been around since 2008, ignoring the new, more modern styling of its rivals and combining the Demon with the Hellcat to create the new 797hp top-of-the-range Hellcat Redeye. Externally, the Hellcat Redeye is a continuation of the Hellcat’s wide body style, with an increase of around 89mm in width to accommodate a wider 20″ tire set to provide sufficient grip. In line with the New Year’s Hellcat, the Hellcat Redeye will also be equipped with a new bonnet with twin air intakes in homage to the brand’s classic 1970s muscle car.
The interior is similar to the new Hellcat line-up, with a central 8.4″ touchscreen multimedia screen and carbon-fiber trim, but with red seat belts to enhance the sporty ambiance. The instrumentation remains traditional and analog, but the final speedometer has been increased to 220mph (approx. 354km/h) and the central information display has been given its own red-eyed Hellcat icon.
